I want to share my experiences at the Farm in Conyers, Georgia. My sister
Rose, from New Jersey, and I took our children to Conyers for the August
13, 1995 apparition. Rose's four years old son, Chase, had been diagnosed
with Hunters Syndrome in May of 1995. This is a terminal genetic illness
that is known to blind, deafen, cripple, retard, and ultimately kill its
victims between the ages of 10 to 14. Her husband, Tony, had been in terrible
depression for three months, unable to accept the prognosis for his son.
He wanted to come to Conyers with us, but was unable to get the time off
from work. We visited Conyers for 3 1/2 days in the 95-102 degree heat.
It was hard to pray in such heat. I often just said, "God, we are here.
Please help us." Chase slept through the fifteen decades of the Rosary
on the 13th. We thought this was a miracle, because his behavior
is uncontrollable, due to his illness. We prayed the Rosary from our hearts.
The evening that we returned home to New Jersey, my brother-in-law,
Tony said for the first time, that he didn't want a perfect boy. He loved
and accepted Chase, just the way he was. Later, I mentioned to my sister
Rose that this change of heart was a miracle. The following evening, we
waited up for Tony to come home from work to say the Rosary together. When
he pulled out his Rosary, the crown of thorns and the nails in the hands
on the crucifix, along with the three adjoining links, had turned gold.
We were overjoyed that this had happened to Tony. He had been praying to
God for a sign to show him that all of his prayers were being heard. Tony
was confident that God was telling him that they were, and that Jesus suffered
too, on the cross. Rose's Rosary also started to turn gold, and within
a week, all of the links and the nails on her crucifix were gold. Mine
did not turn gold, but I understand that this doesn't happen to everyone.
They desperately needed a sign from Heaven after going through so much
heartache with their little Chase.
As time passed in the autumn of 1995, I could feel my Faith growing
stronger. I was spending more time in prayer, and reading a lot of inspirational
material. Although I had previously attended Mass as often as I could during
the week, I now committed myself to making the five First Saturdays. I
desperately wanted to return to Conyers again. We really received some
very special graces there.
I did return to Conyers on February 12th of this year. This
time, my husband came with me. We spent four days attending Mass at St.
Pius Church and praying the Rosary in the afternoon at the Farm. It was
a very special time. On the 13th, during the glorious mysteries
of the Rosary, I took some Polaroid photos of the sky. I knew that the
Blessed Mother was above the crowd during the Rosary, but that she descended
during the glorious mysteries. In a roll of ten exposures, I got seven
very special photos of her in a diamond shape descending from the sky to
the ground. The sky appears with a cross in the sun and a white circle
appears in two of the photos. I had been praying for at least one special
photo for my husband. He, in turn, had been praying for one special photo
for me. She truly gave me more than I ever expected. I did not need proof
that she was there with us, but she gave us proof, just the same.
I found that I had a flaming sore throat on that Wednesday evening at
the hotel. We were not due to fly home until that Friday afternoon. My
throat was on fire. I asked my husband to pour a little holy water from
the Farm into a cup from me. I drank it, and the sore throat was gone within
a half an hour. This was something I would have been fighting for a week,
under normal circumstances.
When we arrived home, my husband immediately asked me for copies of
the Acts of Consecration to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate
Heart of Mary. He felt that he needed to make some changes and become a
better person. The graces received at Conyers were working. During this
Lent, we are making even greater efforts to sacrifice and do penance.
The graces received at Conyers have really touched all of us. Especially
wonderful has been the feeling of absolute peace and joy while praying
together at the Farm. I will definitely return to Conyers again, as soon
as I am able.
