The following are excerpts from my experiences at Conyers, taken from
my post to my prayer group on the Internet. I want you to know that for
me this was truly a spirit-filled experience:
Three years ago in August, 1995, I was greatly
graced and had the opportunity to speak to Nancy. I had seen Padre Pio
and had many experiences that day. Nancy, for one of the few times I had
been there, did not mention Padre Pio that day. Believe me, I was listening
intently to all that she said, because I guess I wanted confirmation of
what I had witnessed. I was in the handicapped section, because I was ill
and scheduled for surgery for tumors in two weeks. I waited until she had
spoken to others, since I felt that they needed her more than me at the
time.
At the end, she came up to me and I asked her to pray for the grace
to endure whatever Our Lord had in store for me. She said, "Jesus can heal
tumors." I said that I knew, but I was only looking for the grace to undergo
whatever He wished. She then grabbed my hand and mentioned to me to start
praying to Padre Pio for intercession. I looked at her and said, "Nancy,
I saw Padre Pio today." She got excited and said, "I knew it. When I touched
your hand, electricity went through me and Padre Pio came into my mind."
Needless to say, Padre Pio has been very special to me since (as is Nancy).
I did go through with the surgery, but my doctor, when she was through,
said there were no tumors. My fallopian tubes had wrapped themselves around
my intestines, and my ovaries had started to attach themselves to my intestines.
I had the greatest surgery I ever had to undergo, and had such peace! There
were no complications. It was easy as pie, and I didn't even have to take
pain medication after the second day. I was working within five days. (Albeit
in bed; I'm a medical transcriptionist, and I just set up my computer in
my room!). I will be forever grateful to Our Lord, Our Lady, and to Nancy
for having listened to my call and for the many sacrifices I know she has
endured for all of us. Thank you, Nancy, I love you!
The following are excerpts of what I experienced at the final apparition
of Our Lady, Oct. 13, 1998, as told to my prayer group:
I was blessed to have had the opportunity to arrive at the farm on Sunday
night. I was able to stay so close to the farm that parking was definitely
not a problem. We were able to walk to everything.. Also, the first night
Linda and I, Frank (a friend), Frank's son and his son's brother-in-law
were able to go up to Holy Hill and spend time there completely alone.
This was a minor miracle. If you could have seen the crowds, to have that
opportunity to pray in such silence was truly a blessing.
The next morning, we were able to walk to Mass. We witnessed the "Miracle
of the Sun" as it was coming up over Nancy's house. The Mass for me was
my first experience of the Byzantine Rite. It was so reverent and special!
I could not believe how many people I ran into that I knew. I even met
my former pastor and spiritual director. He ended up saying Mass for all
of us at the house where I was staying the next morning. We went up to
the Holy Hill for the candlelight vigil. We held candles and oh how glorious
a night! It was all done so beautifully by everyone! We did get to smell
the roses; actually it ended up we were tasting them, too. Our Heavenly
Mother was walking among us, and for this I will be forever grateful.
The next day on the 13th, we went over to the Apparition
site. There were so many people, and what truly amazed me was that no one
was grumpy or out of sorts or rude. We all settled in. We had looked up
at the sky and it was completely blue, with not a cloud in sight! As the
apparition time approached, all of a sudden it was as if a cloud just appeared
directly above the apparition house. Out of this cloud, the sun appeared
and our group saw the "Miracle of the Sun". A cross of light came out of
it and rays emanated from it with the bottom rays going down to the roof
of the house. It was so beautiful!
I also forgot to tell you that on the previous day, we went to see the
Statue of Our Lady down in front of the Apparition house. It was so beautiful;
what a piece of art! I edged my way over to it, touched it, and prayed.
I felt this electricity going through my hand, as if my hand was vibrating.
I went over to a friend and told her what had happened. She grabbed my
hand. It was hot and she felt something when she touched it. I have no
idea what all this meant, but I am hoping that Our Lady was giving me something
that I must have needed and maybe my friend, too! I believe Our Lady was
letting me know in a very special way, that she was with us! I can't tell
all of you what those few days have done for me. I feel truly blessed and
so on fire. I had only asked when I went there that my Rosary would turn
gold. I have never asked for anything like this before. I have always enjoyed
the peace and love that I receive when I go to Conyers. That has always
been enough for me. This time I asked for my Rosary to turn gold because
it is sterling silver, and I had my husband look at it closely before I
left, just in case. I wore it and asked for this for his conversion. Much
to my surprise, the links between all the mysteries (the Our Father beads)
turned gold. I am going to pray many Rosaries and I just know it will completely
turn. I showed it to my husband and he saw it. Let us hope and pray that
he will experience a conversion from all of this.
I am sorry that this is so long, but I wanted all of you to share my
experiences with me. I truly feel blessed and so undeserving of such joy!
I hope my experiences will also touch your hearts and through them you
too, will be blessed.
Your Sister in Christ,
Bernadette F.
