What a day! I am handicapped, and because of the crowds, I didn't think
I'd be able to make it. Our bus didn't get there until 11:30 AM. Then,
instead of dropping us off, the driver parked over at the Holy Hill. Thanks
to my fellow passengers, I got there in time to say the Rosary and get
into the handicapped area. I had been praying for humility, and there I
received it, when I saw all those wonderful people. Next to me was a young
man of about thirty years of age, who was severely handicapped. I would
guess it was probably Cerebral Palsy. By his appearance, one could tell
that he was very poor. He had a cheap plastic Rosary that he held on to
with all his might, with his spastic hands. A woman came up to him and
exchanged her beautiful Rosary for his plastic Rosary. When we began to
say the sorrowful mysteries, he dropped to his knees, and as difficult
as it was, remained there until we finished. He then took his broom handle
to get him back up on his rusted three-wheeled bike. This was the only
vehicle he had to help him get around. That taught me a lesson in humility
that I will never forget. When I was praying, I saw a doorway framed in
blue with a bright light shining from within. I didn't know what it meant
until I heard Nancy say, "This day, Our Lady takes many souls from purgatory
with her into heaven." My husband died the day after Christmas in '95,
and I have been worried about his soul. I think I was given that vision
to let me know that he is now in Heaven. It was rough, but I wouldn't have
traded that experience for anything in the world. I'm glad Nancy is staying
at the farm. I want to go back when the crowds are not there.
