In July of 1993 a co- worker informed me that Our Lady was
appearing in Conyers. Upon hearing this something instantly went
of in me pulling me to Conyers. I just had to go see The Blessed
Mother. At that time I was suffering from a muscular- skeletal
disease called fibromyalgia and is like having severe arthritis
and chronic fatigue syndrome at the same time. Often times the
disease would become so bad that I would become bed ridden. My
wife and I made plans to attend the apparition on 8/13/93.
As the time grew nearer for us to leave for Conyers, this
constantly went wrong as far as the trip arrangements were
concerned. Additionally I began to worsen physically and really
had no medical business under going such a trip (at the time we
lived in Clearwater Fl. about 500 miles away). We persevered and
began our journey in spite of the obstacles with my wife driving
and me in a make shift bed in the back of our van. We did not
have lodging reservations. We figured we would find a church some
where and would sleep in the van in the parking lot. Also money
was tight so we bought a loaf of bread, jar of peanut butter a
couple cans of fruit and a box ok graham crackers at a store
along the way and off we went.
Upon pulling into the Farm my wife began crying an I remember
her saying "we are not worthy to be here''. After we parked
I was able to get out of the van and walk around with very little
difficulty. As the day progressed I increasingly began to feel
better and by evening felt normal physically. We were able to
sleep in our van that night on the farm property-a true blessing,
as we had no other arrangements. The following morning of the
13th we witnessed many marvelous things.... The frequent smell of
roses and many rosaries around us turning to gold. My rosary
chain turned a golden color and some of the wooden beads appeared
burnt marks as though they had been touched by flames. To quicken
the story, we left Conyers very blessed with a newfound love and
commitment to our faith. I did not pray for healing while at
Conyers as I did not think such a thing could ever happen to me.
my wife however said she had prayed a great deal for my healing
and was convinced that I had been healed of fibromyalgia.
The following weeks after returning home I still felt well
physically however I was afraid to discontinue my medication and
physical therapy treatments. all the while my wife continued to
stand by her belief that I had been healed. We returned to
Conyers the following month and I asked Jesus to give me a sign
through His Mother that I had in fact had been healed. On the
night of 9/12/93 we were at the Holy Hill and I felt drawn to the
Fatima statue at the bottom of the hill. There was no one around
at that time so I sat down and began praying the rosary. A few
moments later the statue seemed to come alive and began blinking
her eyes at me. Suddenly, the statue burst into a bright
brilliant light three times each time brighter than the previous
one. The light was magnificent and seemed as though it was
lightning as in a severe thunderstorm.
After that night I flushed all of my medication down the
toilet and never returned to physical therapy again. Our son,
John Paul, was born on 8/13/94- exactly 1 year to the date from
my healing. Also, I went to the dr. that had been treating me for
fibromyalgia for 3 years and he could find no evidence of the
disease in 10/93. Nearly 6 years later I feel great and lead a
highly active life. I am very thankful for the physical healing
but am far more appreciative of the spiritual healing and
fervency for the Catholic faith that Our Lord blessed me with.
In Christ through Mary,
