The Conyers Messages

The apparitions at Conyers are integrally linked to other apparitions and visionaries, especially the apparitions at Fatima, Portugal, which occurred on the 13th of the month from May 1917 to October 1917.  The main apparitions at Conyers also occurred on the 13ths of the month but the similarity and linkage to Fatima is much more profound than the dates.

The Fatima Apparitions

fatima statueIn Her messages at Conyers from 1990 to 1998, the Blessed Mother reminded Her children of the world to read and heed Her messages at Fatima where She gave messages on the 13ths for six consecutive months in 1917.  These messages culminated in the extraordinary miracle of the sun on October 13th that was reportedly witnessed by 70,000 pilgrims.
The Blessed Mother also stated that the Conyers apparitions were linked most closely to Her appearances at Fatima.  In 1930 the Catholic Church declared the apparitions at Fatima worthy of pious belief.  Pope John Paul II has demonstrated his belief many times in these apparitions.  He recently beatified (a step toward canonization as a saint) two of the three young Fatima visionaries who had died at a young age.

On June 13, 1929, the Blessed Mother requested through Sister Lucia that the Pope in union with all the Bishops of the world consecrate Russia (then enslaved by atheistic Communism) to Her Immaculate Heart so that the nation would be converted back to God.  It was Pope John Paul II who sought to fulfill this request in 1984 by consecrating the world, including Russia, to the Immaculate Heart of Mary.  His faith and action in making the consecration appears to have borne much fruit in the relatively peaceful demise of the Soviet Union and the end of the Cold War within the seven years that followed the Consecration.

The Requests of Our Lady of Fatima

At Conyers, Jesus recommended that people read messages from other specific apparitions and visionaries including “Our Lady’s Peace Plan from Heaven”, a booklet concerning the Blessed Mother’s requests at Fatima. This booklet is available from Love and Mercy Publications,  Our Lady’s Peace Plan is:

  • Consecrate one’s self to the Immaculate Heart of Mary;
  • Offer up daily tasks as a sacrifice in reparation for one’s own sins and the sins of others;
  • Pray the Rosary every day;
  • Wear the Brown scapular as a sign of one’s consecration to Mary, and make acts of reparation to her Immaculate Heart;
  • Make the 5 First Saturdays and meditate 15 minutes on the Mysteries of the Rosary in company with Mary; (see Five First Saturdays)
  • Make visits to the Blessed Sacrament in reparation for sins against Her Immaculate Heart; and
  • Do extra penances and say extra prayers for the conversion of sinners.

A primary purpose of Our Lady of Fatima’s requests as World War I raged on, was to achieve future world peace.  She warned of another war, even worst than the ongoing war, and also of the destructive rise of Communist Russia.  What She warned about came to pass - Her requests were not heeded.

The Requests of Our Loving Mother at Conyers

our loving motherAt Conyers, the Blessed Mother repeated and expanded upon Her requests at Fatima.  Again She warned of another great war if Her requests were not heeded and mankind did not return to God.  In Her final message on October 13, 1998, the Blessed Mother summarized Her many requests at Conyers as follows:

  • Begin to live the messages of love and mercy, living a life to imitate God and being fully united with Him, seeking not worldly treasures but following Jesus and obeying His commandments;
  • Worry not about the future but attend to daily duties and seek the help of St. Joseph and call upon other Saints in Heaven;
  • Pray the Rosary for peace and inner strength and the souls in Purgatory, keeping prayer alive all over so that God may give many graces;
  • Make consecrations to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and to her Immaculate Heart; and
  • Be united, being one in Christ from East to West all over the world.

Her parting words at Conyers were a call for all to evangelize; Be holy witnesses and walk in faith.

The Message of Love and Mercy

The Blessed Mother’s messages at Conyers echoed the words of Jesus at Conyers, in the Gospels and to other visionaries.  The overall theme of the Conyers messages has been summed up in two words:  Love and Mercy

In His messages at Conyers, Jesus recommended  reading “Divine Mercy in My Soul”, the Diary of St. Faustina Kowalska, a Polish nun to whom Jesus appeared and gave messages in the 1930s.  St. Faustina was canonized by Pope John Paul II on the Feast of Divine Mercy in April 2000. This book is available from Love and Mercy Publications

The messages of Conyers mirrored many of the messages of love and mercy given to St. Faustina, which were concisely summarized in the book “Be Apostles of Divine Mercy” by Fr. George Kosicki as follows:

  • Ask for God’s Mercy;
  • Be merciful; and
  • Completely trust in Jesus

divine mercyJesus taught St. Faustina to evangelize by spreading His message of Divine Mercy through deed, word and prayer, which Fr. Kosicki summarized as follows:

  • In deed by practicing the corporal and spiritual works of mercy as taught by the Church;
  • In word by witnessing to and directing people to Holy Scripture, Church teachings and other spiritual writings; and
  • In prayer including the Chaplet of Divine Mercy given to St. Faustina by Jesus.

The Call to Be Holy Witnesses

padre pioTstigmatahrough Her holiness and constant evangelization for Her Son, the Mother of God is the greatest model of a Holy Witness given to mankind.  St. Faustina and the many other saints that appeared in apparitions at Conyers were also excellent models, particularly St. (Padre) Pio, the Italian priest, stigmatist and visionary of the 20th Century who appeared many times at Conyers and who was canonized by Pope John Paul II in June 2002.

St. Pio had five rules for spiritual growth: weekly confession, daily Communion, spiritual reading, meditation and examination of conscience.  And he always urged everyone to study Scripture and enjoined his spiritual children to follow the same rules by which he tried to live:

  • Put your trust in Christ as your Savior;
  • Know that you have no righteousness of your own;
  • Remember that good works come only through Christ;
  • Recognize that the devil is a real individual, bent on destroying you but do not fear him;
  • Always pray to God and say, in every circumstance, 'Thy will be done’ and never worry;
  • Love the cross and offer every action up to God: and
  • Aspire to the Heavenly prize and Rejoice in the Lord

Our Loving Mother's Concern for the
Consequences of Her Children’s Choices

Over the years, Our Loving Mother has told us that She was sent to help us but we are not listening to Her messages.  In Her messages, She tells us about the great love God has for each of us and asks us to open our hearts.  She warns us that we must know that the fires of Hell exist and souls who continue to offend God and remain stubborn go there.  She advises us clearly that the choice is ours.

Our Loving Mother tells us that we need to begin to love God and each other.  She encourages us to act in self-sacrificing love for each other and to embrace our cross in this life while uniting all our sufferings with Jesus.  She asks us to make acts of reparation to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and Her Immaculate Heart.  Our Loving Mother requests that we amend our lives, ask for God's forgiveness and offer our daily trials to God.  She invites us to pray the Rosary for peace and assures us that we are loved.
